Zoom Unveils Major Team Chat Updates for Boosted Productivity
Zoom has rolled out significant updates to its Team Chat, aiming to boost productivity and user experience. The new features include a revamped sidebar, ChatGPT integration, and enhanced chat functionality. The company also recently opened a new office in Bellevue, USA.
The revamped sidebar now features dedicated tabs for direct messages, channels, apps, and folders. Users can customise their workspace by dragging and reordering these tabs to prioritise important conversations. Additionally, the new ChatGPT integration generates action item lists, summarises unread messages, and improves chat message composition and search functionality.
Zoom has also bolstered its support for technical teams by introducing code block support and in-line code formatting. These updates reflect Zoom's commitment to fostering more efficient and effective workplace communication.
Joining the team in October 2021 was Michelle Chang, Zoom's new CFO, who previously held leadership roles at Microsoft. Under her guidance, Zoom continues to innovate and expand, as evident in the opening of its new office in Bellevue, USA, in 2025.
The updated Zoom Team Chat, with its advanced sorting options like the 'Today' filter, and the new sidebar, promises to streamline communication and boost productivity. With the addition of code formatting and AI-powered tools, technical teams will also find the platform more useful. The new office in Bellevue, USA, further solidifies Zoom's growth and commitment to its users.
