WordPress Plugin Assessment: Utilizing WordPress, MySQL, GIT, black-box and white-box testing methods, along with unit testing, automated testing, manual testing, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and Cypress for evaluation.

WPMU DEV, a well-known company specialising in WordPress tools, is currently seeking a QA WordPress Plugin Tester to join their team. The role involves comprehensive beta testing of plugin and service releases, with the potential for a more permanent position after a paid trial.

As a plugin tester, you will be responsible for performing user testing, functionality tests, regression tests, compatibility tests with various WordPress and PHP versions, and popular third-party plugins. You will also be required to measure performance, report issues, monitor fixes, and provide visual proof of bugs through screenshots or videos.

To qualify for this role, you should have strong familiarity with WordPress plugins and theme frameworks, as well as experience with multiple testing types such as black-box, white-box, regression, unit, automated, and manual testing. Sufficient knowledge of MySQL, Git, CSS, PHP, JavaScript is also necessary to effectively identify and reproduce issues.

The hiring process consists of a practical test where you will need to install, activate, and use an attached plugin, documenting any issues observed. This is followed by an interview with the management team, including a second task. Successful candidates will be offered a paid trial period of 4-6 weeks before potentially moving to a permanent role.

The job requires a minimum of 4 hours availability between 1:00 AM and 10:00 AM UTC to overlap with the core team, with the remaining hours flexible.
