Volvo Unveils V90 Cross Country: Rugged Estate for Off-Road Adventures

Volvo has unveiled the new V90 Cross Country, an all-road capable estate car that combines the practicality of an estate with the ruggedness of an SUV. The entry-level model is expected to cost around £43,555, similar to the XC90 D5 Momentum.

The V90 Cross Country comes with a raised ride height, body cladding, four-wheel drive, and an optimized chassis, making it ready for off-road adventures while maintaining on-road comfort. Volvo is targeting a niche buyer who wants SUV abilities in an estate body and is willing to pay a premium for it.

Prices for the new model range from approximately €26,994 for used models to €65,980 for the top-of-the-line B4 Diesel AWD Ultimate. Despite its appeal, the V90 Cross Country may face tough competition, as premium SUVs are now outselling premium estates. The XC90 is currently considered the best value option in Volvo's range.

The new Volvo V90 Cross Country offers real off-road capabilities in an estate body, appealing to those who want SUV-like abilities without sacrificing practicality. Prices start at around £43,555, with used models available for less. However, its success may depend on Volvo's ability to attract buyers in a market where SUVs are increasingly dominant.
