VinFast, a Vietnam-based electric vehicle manufacturer, celebrates the opening of its new showroom in Chennai, following a previous debut in Surat.
VinFast Opens Chennai Showroom, Marking its First Dealership in Tamil Nadu
VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced the opening of its first showroom in Tamil Nadu, India. Located in the Teynampet area, the 4,700 sq. ft. facility is VinFast's largest showroom among the 35 expected to open this year.
The showroom, promoted by Maansarovar Motors, will showcase VinFast's premium electric SUVs, including the VF 6 and VF 7. These models can be pre-booked through VinFast's official India website and partner dealerships, with deliveries scheduled to begin in August 2025.
A Step Towards a Greener India
As part of its India market entry, VinFast has formed strategic partnerships with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to establish a nationwide network for charging and after-sales services. This move is a significant step towards a greener, smarter, and future-ready India.
Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, stated that Chennai was chosen due to its innovative ecosystem, skilled talent, and advanced infrastructure. "We are excited to bring our electric vehicles to India and contribute to the country's efforts in reducing carbon emissions," he said.
Two Electric SUVs with Differing Specifications
The VF 6 is a compact SUV, while the VF 7 is a full-size SUV. Both are front-wheel drive electric vehicles but differ in size, power, battery capacity, and features.
The VF 6 boasts a 59.6 kWh battery and a range of up to 399-410 km, making it a more affordable option. On the other hand, the VF 7 offers more power, a bigger battery (up to 75.3 kWh), longer range (up to 450 km), and higher-end features including ADAS and luxury cabin touches.
Both vehicles are zero-emission vehicles supporting fast and regular charging and come with strong warranty packages. The VF 7, in particular, offers a 10-year or 200,000 km vehicle warranty and a battery warranty for 10 years unlimited km with a 70% capacity guarantee.
A New Chapter for VinFast
VinFast is currently embarking on its next growth phase through rapid expansion of its distribution and dealership network globally and increasing its manufacturing capacities with a focus on key markets across North America, Europe, and Asia. The opening of the Chennai showroom marks a new chapter in this journey.
This is VinFast's second showroom in India, the first one being in Surat. The vehicles will be locally assembled at VinFast's factory in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.
