Villingen-Schwenningen: Major Railway Crossing Renovation Causes Temporary Disruptions

Residents and commuters in Villingen-Schwenningen should expect temporary inconveniences due to a significant construction project at the railway crossing. Deutsche Bahn apologizes in advance for any disruption caused.

The modernization project is set to begin on Monday, September 1st, and will continue until Monday, October 27th. During this period, the Mühlenstraße will be closed in the crossing area, and adjacent properties can only be accessed via alternative routes: Schlachthausstraße / Herrenstraße or Straßburger Straße.

The railway line between Villingen and Donaueschingen will also be closed from Friday, September 12th, to Friday, October 17th. Deutsche Bahn, responsible for the project management, will create a new cable duct crossing for fiber optic expansion and install a modern railway crossing safety system. The existing sidewalk will be extended and led over the new crossing.

The renovation of the railway crossing on Mühlenstraße in Villingen-Schwenningen is expected to improve traffic safety and accommodate fiber optic expansion.
