Underground Music Promotes Launch New Record Label
Heavy Sonics Records, a new record label based in London, is making waves in the underground Drum & Bass (D&B) scene. The label, launched by London's underground event promoters, aims to ignite new artists and catapult them into the heart of the underground D&B scene.
The label's mission is to unearth the raw, untamed energy pulsating beneath the surface of the underground music realm. This mission is evident in their collaborations with brands like Yamatai Records and Drop Art, and their partnerships with top-tier acts such as Koherent, Grey Code, Sweetpea, Klinical, Trex, and Philth, who they started featuring in their events as early as 2021.
One of the first artists to be released by Heavy Sonics is Apollo Navigation. Apollo's music is a testament to the label's vision, embodying the raw energy they aim to unearth and promote. Apollo's inaugural release with Heavy Sonics, scheduled for September 2023, will consist of two tracks: "Compromised" and "Deadshot".
Heavy Sonics Records continues to foster the growth and exposure of undiscovered talents in the underground music scene. The label has scheduled releases extending into 2024, and their roster includes rising stars like MC RVS and Bruises. MC RVS's EP marked the label's 14th release earlier in August 2025, while Bruises' "Cogs EP" served as the 20th release, emphasizing the label’s focus on innovative and forward-thinking music.
In addition to their releases, Heavy Sonics Records hosts monthly London parties that showcase their community vibe in the city's underground D&B scene. A recent example is the Deep End event held on August 9, 2025, which was linked with the label’s releases.
Heavy Sonics Records encourages artists to showcase their music live as well as online. Apollo Navigation, a regular attendee at Heavy Sonics events, is set to be the first artist released by the label. The label has a fervent dedication to spotlighting undiscovered talents, hosting online competitions to encourage aspiring DJs and MCs to join their ranks.
