Kazakhtelecom Embraces Digital Transformation, Offers High-Speed Internet Speed Tests to Clients

Kazakhtelecom, the leading telecommunications company in Kazakhstan, is making significant strides in digitizing its services, making it easier than ever for customers to manage their internet, TV, and SIM card connections, choose tariffs, complete identification and payments, view service details, leave requests, and more, all within the TelecomKZ app without the need to visit an office.

This digital push is not limited to the cities of Astana, Shymkent, and Almaty, where slow internet is now a thing of the past. Kazakhtelecom plans to conduct similar network modernization in other cities and regions of Kazakhstan.

In a bid to let customers experience the comfort and quality of these new technologies firsthand, Kazakhtelecom has opened a new office in the 'Aсылтау' business center.

The implementation of XGS-PON technology, which allows for internet speeds up to 10 Gbps, required a large-scale network modernization in Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent. In June 2025, Kazakhtelecom launched XGS-PON technologies, marking a significant leap in internet speed test results.

Rasim Bataraev, a client of Kazakhtelecom, was among the first to experience the demonstration of these new services. He finds high-speed internet essential for his work.

However, a question remains about the readiness of client devices for such high-speed internet. Most households in Kazakhstan currently do not yet have widespread devices ready to fully utilize Kazakhtelecom’s new 10-Gigabit Internet speed test technology. The infrastructure upgrade is ongoing with plans to connect over 3,000 rural settlements and complete fiber optic line construction by the end of 2026.

In the meantime, satellite options like Starlink are supporting remote areas but with lower speeds. Kazakhtelecom has not been reported to be involved in the provision of internet in some Kazakhstani trains by the end of 2025.

A demo zone in the new office showcases the full range of new services offered by Kazakhtelecom, including the groundbreaking Wi-Fi 7 technology, which Kazakhtelecom was the first operator to launch for end-users.

As Kazakhtelecom continues to lead the way in digital transformation, it is clear that the future of telecommunications in Kazakhstan is looking brighter and faster than ever before.
