Oakley Tailend Ti: A Limited-Edition Masterpiece
The Oakley Tailend Ti, a collaboration between Oakley and Vancouver's Haven, marks a significant milestone in eyewear design. This anniversary edition of the Tailend, first introduced in 2015, addresses one of the few criticisms of the original model by incorporating a lighter, proprietary titanium alloy frame.
The new lightweight frame maintains all the distinctive sculpting and laser-etched details that made the original Tailend compelling. It showcases subtle yet refined aesthetics, embodying a fusion of Oakley’s landmark models such as the rimless Zero series, round Mars/Moon lines, and the avant-garde Madman.
The Tailend Ti's design is practical yet ambitious, drawing inspiration from Oakley’s iconic X-Metal lineage and Mad Science era. It features a circular rimless frame with a hidden half-orbital frame, providing substantial coverage but not being oversized. The frame is equipped with Prizm Ruby lenses, engineered for superior contrast and clarity, elevating optical performance.
The eyewear is further enhanced with a spring hinge system, ensuring both security and comfort in daily wear. The signature coil stems add to its unique appeal.
The Tailend Ti is a global exclusive through Haven, launching exclusively at their Vancouver location on August 8. The online release follows at an undisclosed date. The pricing of the Tailend Ti is yet to be announced, but it is expected to be in the same $2,640 range as the Plantaris Ti released last month.
This anniversary edition of the Tailend celebrates a decade of a model that distills Oakley’s experimental and iconic eyewear milestones into a practical, stylish daily-wear frame without sacrificing futuristic appeal or functionality.
