Three-wheeled Fiat Tris may steal the show as the adorable utility vehicle on the market; contemplating if the famous Ranger is still your preferred pickup truck?
Fiat has made a bold move in the world of transportation with the introduction of its first-ever 3-wheeled vehicle, named the Tris. This innovative electric vehicle, born from the creative minds at Centro Stile, is engineered to meet the urgent need for clean, accessible transport as cities grow.
The Tris boasts a 9kW motor, a lithium battery with a capacity of 6.9kWh, and a range of 90km, making it an ideal solution for urban environments. Measuring 3.17m in length and boasting a tight 3.05m turning radius, the Tris is agile and maneuverable, perfect for navigating the busy streets of modern cities.
Stability is a key focus for the Tris, with features such as a wide track rear axle, enlarged wheelbase, and 12-inch tyres all contributing to its solid road presence. The Tris is strategically positioned for Africa and the Middle East, and Fiat claims that it merges iconic Italian design, affordability, and versatility into a zero-emissions business solution.
The Tris is equipped with a digital cluster inside the cabin, displaying driving information on a 5.7-inch screen. The cargo area offers approximately 2.25 square metres of load space and can accommodate a standard Euro pallet, making it a practical choice for independent workers, small businesses, and underserved communities.
Charging the Tris is a breeze, with a built-in 220v plug for easy recharging, as well as a USB-C plug and a 12v socket for power accessibility. The lithium battery can be topped-up from 0-80% in 3.5 hours, or completely recharged in 4 hours and 40 minutes, using a standard domestic plug.
The Tris is available in three configurations: cab-chassis, flatbed, and pickup. Fiat CEO Olivier Francois stated that the Tris is more than just a new vehicle; it's a breakthrough in urban mobility. With a top speed of 45km/h, the Tris is capable of reaching speeds suitable for city driving while maintaining safety and stability.
Fiat has also announced that the electric three-wheeler truck version of the Tris will be sold in Europe, excluding Africa and the Middle East. The Tris, with its combination of style, practicality, and sustainability, is set to redefine urban mobility and offer a cost-effective, zero-emissions solution for the future.
