Stellantis finance executive joins Polestar as their new Chief Financial Officer
In a recent press release, electric performance car brand Polestar has announced a change in its financial leadership. Jean-Francois Mady, a seasoned automotive finance executive with over 25 years of experience, will be taking over as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Polestar, effective from October 21.
Mady, who previously held the position of Senior Vice President of global accounting operations and finance transformation at Stellantis, brings a wealth of experience to Polestar. His career in the automotive industry spans more than two decades at PSA Group.
This change comes at a critical time for Polestar, as the company has been facing financial challenges following Volvo Cars' divestment of a majority of its stake in May. The company may be at risk of delisting from the stock exchange due to struggling to maintain compliance with the Nasdaq's minimum bid price requirement.
Despite these challenges, Polestar remains optimistic. Michael Lohscheller, the incoming CEO of Polestar, has emphasised the importance of making Polestar a financial success. He believes that Mady's expertise will be instrumental in achieving this goal.
Lohscheller, who will take over from Thomas Ingenlath, has identified the U.S. manufacturing of Polestar vehicles as a crucial step for the company. Ingenlath, the former CEO, highlighted this point when Polestar recently launched the production of its Polestar 3 in South Carolina.
Meanwhile, Per Ansgar, who has served as the interim CFO on a transitional basis, will be returning to his position as CFO of Geely Sweden Holding. Dr. Marius Mölders, who started as CFO in June 2025, will be taking over the role from October 21.
The press release did not mention any specific strategies or plans to address Polestar's financial challenges. However, Lohscheller expressed confidence in Mady's ability to steer the company through these difficulties, citing his "best practice competence" as a reason for optimism.
As Polestar navigates these challenges, it continues to push forward with its mission to provide electric performance cars for the driving enthusiast. With Mady's appointment, the company is poised to face these challenges head-on and work towards a successful future.
