Starrett-Bytewise Unveils Profile360 Blue: Next-Gen Laser Measurement System
Starrett-Bytewise has launched the Profile360 Blue, the fifth generation of its real-time in-line laser measurement system. This new model, introduced by Global Sales Director Mark Butchard, offers enhanced features for continuous 2D profile inspection.
The Profile360 Blue boasts a compact design, thanks to new software and hardware, and an embedded processor that eliminates the need for a separate PC interface. The system acquires thousands of data points around the profile and matches them to a CAD template, extracting measurement parameters such as width, thickness, gap, radius, and angle.
With expanded field-of-view options, including 60 mm, 120 mm, and 180 mm, the Profile360 Blue provides larger inspection envelope capabilities in a smaller package. It can be purchased in standard sizes or custom-built for almost any size and shape. Matt Orvis, Global Sales Director of Starrett-Bytewise, confirms that the system integrates seamlessly into production lines, offering 100% inspection of the entire parts run.
The Profile360 Blue continuously monitors key profile dimensions in complex shapes and features in various materials, ensuring quality and preventing defects. Measurement parameters are compared to allowable control limits and displayed on the operator's terminal with a pass/caution/fail status indicator.
