Created by Sony Block Solutions Labs, Soneium is an open, decentralized network empowering developers to build on it. Despite being separate from Sony's PlayStation gaming brand, there's significant shared history between the two companies, with Final Fantasy VII's iconic launch on the original PlayStation back in 1997. As for Symbiogenesis, the game is still set to conclude in July—at least for now.

"We continue to engage in discussions with Square Enix about potential future collaboration," a Soneium representative shared with us, but "[from] Soneium's point of view, we're unable to share further details."
