Sonatel, a major telecommunications company in West Africa and a subsidiary of the global telecom giant Orange, has appointed Mr. Brelotte BA as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective August 1, 2025.
With 24 years of professional experience in the telecommunications sector, Brelotte BA brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. He has built a strong track record working with Orange across Africa, indicating extensive regional expertise in the telecom industry.
Before his appointment, Brelotte BA held senior roles within Orange, serving as Deputy Managing Director of Orange Middle East Africa since 2022. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director of Orange Niger from 2012 to 2017 and the General Manager of Orange Guinea from 2017 to 2018. He has also held positions such as Director of Operators and International Relations at Sonatel, Director of Commercial Marketing and Communications for Orange Guinea, and Management Controller of the Sonatel group.
The Board of Directors of Sonatel expressed gratitude to Mr. Sékou DRAME for his commitment and contributions to the company's development. DRAME has served as Sonatel's CEO since 2018, and his mandate will end on July 31, 2025.
