Skylar, running on Skyryse's SkyOS operating system, acts as an always-on copilot, managing critical flight functions and aiding pilots in decision-making. It listens to and interprets Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) communications, transcribing them in real-time and suggesting appropriate responses. Pilots can approve ATC instructions with a simple swipe or tap, with Skylar then engaging the flight control system to execute them.
Skylar's capabilities extend beyond communication assistance. It monitors air traffic, builds flight plans, automates checklists, calculates fuel burn, and detects system anomalies. By continuously processing data and presenting clear, contextual information to pilots, Skylar addresses the common problem of communication breakdowns, which the FAA estimates contribute to up to 80% of aviation incidents and accidents. Notably, Skylar is aircraft-agnostic, functioning effectively in both helicopters and airplanes across various operators.
