Sharing Gemini Gems on Google is now possible for users.

In a recent update, Google has introduced the ability to share Gemini Gems with other users, making collaboration more seamless across Gemini and Drive. This new feature is protected by Drive permissions, ensuring that only authorised individuals can access shared Gems.

The update brings a notable change to the 'My Gems' list. Each item now features a share button, conveniently located next to the edit pencil icon. To share a Gem, users can either enter an email address or generate a link by visiting gemini.google.com/gem/abcxyz123?usp=sharing.

The Gemini app is undergoing a redesign of its prompt bar, which is being rolled out on both Android and iOS devices. The redesign removes the box, aiming to provide a cleaner and more intuitive interface. Once a Gem is shared, it will be saved to the Gem manager with a new 'Shared with me' section.

Recipients of shared Gems can make changes to the instructions using the overflow menu. For web users, the process to share a Gem involves visiting gemini.google.com/gems/view in the side panel. Upon receiving a shared Gem, the recipient will be directed to the chat page with a 'This Gem is shared. Instructions may change' message.

Google has also announced that Ask Gemini is coming to Google Meet for Workspace customers, further enhancing collaboration opportunities. However, the information about who led the initiative for Google to provide the ability to share Gemini Gems with other users starting in June is not specified in the search results.

With these updates, Google continues to refine the Gemini app, making it a more powerful tool for productivity and collaboration.
