Secretly Record Movies and Conduct Ships in Basement Dwellings
On June 18th, an exciting day awaits maritime enthusiasts in Kellenhusen. The Seabridge will play host to not one, but two captivating events.
First, at 2 pm, a film presentation will take place in the Diekhuus hall. Martin Dethleff, a volunteer member of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Society (DGzRS), will be giving a riveting talk about the diverse tasks and daily life of sea rescuers operating in the North and Baltic Seas. Dethleff's presentation will offer a glimpse into the wide range of duties these rescuers perform, from search and rescue operations and monitoring maritime traffic to providing first aid and emergency medical assistance.
Following the film presentation, from 4 to 6 pm, an Open Ship event will take place at the Seabridge. The star of this event will be the rescue cruiser "Felix Sand" of the DGzRS. Visitors will have the rare opportunity to step aboard this lifesaving vessel and gain a direct look at the ship's technology and equipment.
Although Martin Dethleff will not be directly involved in the Open Ship event, his presentation may provide valuable insights into the work of the "Felix Sand" crew. The Open Ship event is designed to offer visitors a firsthand look at the daily routines and lifesaving missions of these dedicated rescuers.
However, it's important to note that the Open Ship event may be cancelled if the "Felix Sand" is currently on a mission. So, if you're keen to attend, be sure to check the status of the event before heading down to the Seabridge.
This unique combination of a film presentation and Open Ship event promises to be an enlightening and enjoyable experience for all who attend. Whether you're a seasoned maritime enthusiast or simply curious about the world of sea rescuers, this event is not to be missed!
Technology in the maritime rescue sector will be on display during the Open Ship event at the Seabridge from 4 to 6 pm. The rescuers' lifesaving vessel "Felix Sand" will provide visitors with a firsthand look at its advanced technology.
