SeaLife Debuts Android Mobile Application for Enhanced Underwater Photography with SportDiver Phone Case
New SeaLife SportDiver App Enhances Underwater Smartphone Photography
SeaLife has announced the launch of a new Android app for its popular SportDiver Smartphone Underwater Housing, available now at the Google Play Store [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sealife.sportdiver]. This innovative app offers a host of features designed to optimise underwater smartphone photography and videography.
The SeaLife SportDiver housing is constructed using high-quality materials, including polycarbonate, stainless steel, aluminium, and optical grade glass. It is designed to withstand the rigours of underwater use while maintaining a sleek and lightweight design, weighing less than 1.5 pounds (641 grams) on land and offering near-neutral buoyancy in water.
The housing connects to the smartphone and the SportDiver app using Bluetooth® Low Energy wireless technology. This connection allows for seamless control of advanced camera settings such as Zoom, Lens selection, Exposure, Auto/Manual Focus, White Balance, Tint, Video stabilization, and RAW shooting [1]. These controls allow users to finely adjust their underwater photography and videography parameters directly through the app while using the SportDiver underwater housing.
The SportDiver housing also offers ultra-low power consumption, powered by two AAA batteries that last over 50 hours of continuous use. Videos start playing automatically when selected and are also saved to the phone's camera roll.
For added security, the SportDiver housing features a sturdy holding spring and rubber grip tabs for securing the smartphone and adding shock-protection. The door of the housing is sealed with a TPE O-ring and a robust cam-lock sealing latch. In the unlikely event of a compromised waterproof seal, the housing has "Dual Leak Alarms" that alert the diver with on-screen warnings, audio, and LED signals.
The SportDiver includes the free SportDiver camera app for both Android and iOS. The App Playback mode in the SportDiver app shows full-size photos and videos with a vertical thumbnail strip for easy navigation. A removable underwater color-correction filter is included with the housing to restore natural underwater colours.
The SportDiver housing allows users to take photos and videos underwater up to 130 feet or 40 meters. It fits most Android and Apple smartphones from iPhone 7 and up. SeaLife offers a fit-guide on its website for users to instantly determine if their phone model will fit into the SportDiver housing [https://www.sealife-cameras.com/sportdiver-compatibility/].
The new Android app for the SeaLife SportDiver is just one more step in SeaLife's commitment to providing innovative solutions for underwater photography and videography.
