Saudi Arabia's First Island Golf Course, Shura Links, Opens at The Red Sea
Saudi Arabia's Red Sea Global (RSG) has opened Shura Links, the country's first island golf course, on Shura Island at The Red Sea. The course, designed by Brian Curley, is set to challenge golf enthusiasts and attract beginners alike, with direct flights from Qatar Airways starting next month.
Shura Links, a par-72, 7,400-yard course, winds through native mangroves, dunes, and along the Red Sea shoreline, reflecting RSG's commitment to regenerative tourism. The course is designed to be enjoyed by both seasoned pros and beginners, with a 'find your ball' theme that encourages exploration and fun.
The course is part of The Red Sea Project, a luxury resort set to open to guests in the coming weeks. It will feature 11 world-class resorts and exclusive homes. The project is a key initiative of Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to diversify the country's economy through sustainable tourism. RSG, a PIF company, is at the forefront of this development, with Shura Links being a landmark achievement in Saudi Arabia's pursuit of global leadership in sports and tourism.
Shura Links, designed by Brian Curley and developed by Troon, is now open for play. The course offers a unique coastal links experience with minimal environmental interference, making it a must-play destination for golfers visiting The Red Sea. With direct flights from Qatar Airways starting next month, golf enthusiasts can now easily access this exciting new golfing experience.
