Saudi Arabia First in Middle East to Deploy SkyFive's A2G Inflight Connectivity

Saudi Arabia has become the first Middle Eastern country to deploy SkyFive's air-to-ground (A2G) inflight connectivity service, with the first A321 of SAUDIA aircraft flying with the technology for several months. This marks a significant milestone for SkyFive, which is expanding its low-latency A2G services across the globe.

SkyFive has been actively working on A2G solutions in Australia, China, New Zealand, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. The company plans to extend its reach to the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Notably, the first aircraft equipped with SkyFive's A2G network in the Middle East is expected to commence commercial service in the latter half of 2025.

In a strategic move, SkyFive is exploring options to enter the US market, further expanding its global footprint. The company has already made significant strides in partnerships, with New Zealand-based Flightcell successfully integrating SkyFive's Dragonfly module into its DZMx terminal. SkyFive is also collaborating with Diehl Aerospace for eVTOL integration and Echostar Mobile and Airbus for redundant satellite links. Additionally, SkyFive is working with Japan's Softbank for technology verification.

SkyFive's innovative Dragonfly module, a postage stamp-sized A2G device, is enabling the mass proliferation of A2G technology. SkyFive Arabia, a Saudi mixed company, has partnered with Jetex to provide seamless inflight connectivity services across the Middle East and Africa. Looking ahead, the first dedicated SkyFive A2G-fitted aircraft is expected to enter commercial service in the Middle East by late 2023 or early 2024.

SkyFive's successful deployment in Saudi Arabia signals a significant step in its global expansion. With strategic partnerships and innovative technology, SkyFive is poised to revolutionize inflight connectivity, with the Middle East and beyond set to benefit from its low-latency A2G services.
