Rwanda's University of Rwanda Launches CyberHub for Digital Literacy and Cybersecurity Training
Rwanda's University of Rwanda has launched a new CyberHub, a collaborative space for exploring emerging technologies and training in digital literacy, AI, and cybersecurity. The hub is a joint effort by Rwanda's National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA), Cisco, and GIZ.
The CyberHub, part of Cisco's Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program, aims to build a sustainable, secure, and inclusive innovation ecosystem in Rwanda. It features a Cybersecurity Academy, Innovation Hub, and state-of-the-art technology labs for cybersecurity training and education.
Cisco's East Africa Regional Manager, Shain Rahim, expressed the company's commitment to supporting Rwanda's digital transformation and strengthening its cyber resilience through the CyberHub. The hub offers training opportunities including Cisco Networking Academy courses on digital literacy, AI, and advanced cybersecurity certifications. Cisco's CDA program has already trained over 16.6 million learners in Africa with essential digital skills.
The CyberHub, launched at the University of Rwanda's College of Science and Technology in Kigali, is set to build talent with specialized skills in cybersecurity and data protection. NCSA aims to support the development of a cybersecurity and data privacy ecosystem in Rwanda through this initiative.
