Roval Unveils Lightweight Alpinist CLX III Wheelset and Alpinist II Cockpit
Roval has unveiled two new lightweight products in its Alpinist range: the Alpinist CLX III wheelset and the Alpinist II cockpit. The wheelset is one of the lightest available, weighing just 1,131g with valves and tape, while the cockpit offers improved comfort and compatibility.
The Alpinist CLX III wheelset, priced at £1,149 for the front and £1,599 for the rear, totals £2,748 for the pair. It features thermoplastic spokes, reducing weight by 134g compared to its predecessor. The wheelset is ETRTO compliant and boasts a hooked bead design for enhanced tubeless safety.
The Alpinist II cockpit, priced at £575, is compatible with Specialized's Tarmac SL8, Aethos, and Roubaix bikes. It offers a wider top section and flared drops for improved hand comfort and vibration damping. The cockpit has also been updated with a revised cable routing system for better integration with modern bike designs. Size options have been expanded to cater to current bike fit trends.
The next Specialized road bike to feature the lightweight Roval Alpinist components will be the 2026 Specialized Aethos 2 Pro, equipped with the new Alpinist Cockpit II and Alpinist CLX III wheels. Both the Alpinist CLX III wheelset and the Alpinist II cockpit are now available for purchase on Specialized's website.
