Revolutionized Audio Experience: Enhanced Sound Quality, Flexibility, and Production Potential with latest Audio System

Upgraded Audio System Transforms DCU Center into Premier Live Entertainment Destination

The DCU Center, a live entertainment hub in New England, has undergone an extensive audio system upgrade, transforming it into a premier destination for those seeking exceptional production quality. Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) was enlisted to help with the upgrade, and the centerpiece of the new system is the ADAPTive Series.

The ADAPTive Series system, featuring 36 Anna and 18 Otto modules, delivers powerful and clear audio coverage throughout the venue. It is powered by advanced ADAPTive algorithms and digital signal processing (DSP), which optimize sound performance dynamically for varying event requirements and acoustics.

The system employs powerful line arrays and precision-placed fill speakers to ensure even, high-quality sound dispersion across the entire seating area, supporting an immersive listening experience for all attendees. By integrating these advanced loudspeakers and subwoofers with intelligent DSP, the system enhances audio clarity, coverage, and low-frequency impact, particularly in a large space capable of hosting up to 14,000 seats.

This upgrade was necessary due to the aging sound system's inability to keep pace with the quality of events hosted. Rob Hornbaker, director of operations of the DCU Center, stated that the new EAW system delivers precise, uniform coverage across a large and acoustically complex space, regardless of the event. Fans, event organizers, and production crews have all commented on the clarity and balance of the sound throughout the arena, regardless of their location in the building.

The new EAW system is more efficient and easier to manage for the in-house operations team of the DCU Center. Artists and production teams have noted the difference in the DCU Center's sound quality with the new EAW system. The system can adapt coverage to different scenarios, focusing full system energy on lower or mid-level seating without the need for mechanical adjustments.

The system's adaptability allows for less reverb and tighter, more intelligible sound at smaller events. It maintains the same signature sound for each audience scenario, enhancing every event at the DCU Center, allowing it to host the next generation of live entertainment. The new system also includes supplementary QX300 and MK2300 Series loudspeakers, providing detailed coverage across all seating zones.

The DCU Center's new audio system was designed by WJHW and installed by Ostrow Electric Company and Metropolitan Interactive. Guest feedback has been overwhelmingly positive since the installation of the new EAW system, positioning the DCU Center as a premier destination for those seeking exceptional production quality.
