Ressence Unveils New Timepiece: Type 7, Marking Debut of Brand's Initial GMT Functionality

Ressence, a watchmaker established 15 years ago, has unveiled a new model, the Type 7. This avant-garde timepiece is a testament to Ressence's commitment to innovation and design, offering a unique blend of modern aesthetics and practical usability.

The Type 7 watch is constructed in Switzerland, a country renowned for its precision watchmaking. It is the first Ressence watch to include a GMT function, a feature that allows wearers to easily track a second time zone. The GMT display is housed in its own subdial, seamlessly integrated into the dial design to preserve Ressence’s signature legibility and avant-garde aesthetic.

One of the standout features of the Type 7 is its design and materials. The watch comes with a titanium bracelet equipped with a deployant clasp, offering five adjustable positions for a secure and comfortable fit. The choice of titanium contributes to a lightweight yet highly durable luxury timepiece.

The Type 7 watch is also the first integrated bracelet and the first titanium bracelet from Ressence. Leather and rubber strap options are also available.

The innovative dial design of the Type 7, characteristic of Ressence, displays the time via rotating discs rather than traditional hands. This creates a fluid, ever-changing face that is highly modern and intuitive. The watch retains the avant-garde design language that is characteristic of Ressence.

The Type 7 watch is housed in a 41mm grade 5 titanium case and features a domed dial filled with oil for easy viewing from any angle. To set the second hour hand on the Type 7 watch, the center of the caseback is turned clockwise, causing the GMT hand to jump backwards.

The Type 7 watch is the first truly sporty timepiece in Ressence's catalog. It is available in two dial color options: Night Blue and Aquamarine. The Night Blue version is not a limited edition, but there will be a limited edition of 80 in Aquamarine to celebrate Ressence's 15th anniversary.

The Type 7 watch is priced at CHF 36,000 (~$40,808). It is available from select retailers.

The Type 7 watch uses Ressence's patented Ressence Orbital Convex System (ROCS) module. The hours on the watch have their own subdial with an 11-color indicator inside that measures the temperature of the oil. A running seconds subdial is also included at the top of the watch.

In conclusion, the Ressence Type 7 avant-garde mechanical watch features several key innovations including a unique design with an integrated titanium bracelet, an innovative GMT function, and a distinctive approach to mechanical watchmaking. These combined features distinguish the Type 7 as a cutting-edge mechanical watch blending avant-garde design with practical usability.

Ressence's Type 7 watch, this avant-garde timepiece, showcases a blend of modern technology and design style, evident in its innovative dial system and patented ROCS module. The watch's striking design includes the first titanium bracelet from Ressence, marking a significant step in the fusion of technology and fashion in watchmaking.
