Renault Trucks introduces electric vehicles for beverage transportation in the year 2025, with the innovative SideLiner feature
Renault Trucks and Orten Fahrzeugbau have teamed up to present an all-electric, three-axle Renault Trucks E-Tech equipped with the SideLiner body at the Nufam trade fair in Karlsruhe from September 25 to 28, 2025.
The collaboration between these two companies is focused on advancing electric heavy-duty truck solutions, as demonstrated by the E-Tech with SideLiner on display at Nufam 2025. The SideLiner body, a unique feature, swings out electrically to the side and clears the loading area quickly, making it ideal for various transport needs.
Maximilian von Loebbecke, the new Managing Director of Renault Trucks Germany, visited Orten Fahrzeugbau in Bernkastel-Kues to witness the progress of the project. The vehicle on display has been recently handed over to Ensinger Mineral Springs and will be used for regional distribution in the company's sales area.
The electrically operated combination of chassis and body is designed for beverage logistics and is intended to operate there emission-free and quietly. The vehicles delivered are equipped with the SafeServer body by Orten, which allows the side walls of the vehicles to be opened and closed by hand in a short amount of time.
The project was implemented in close coordination with Renault Trucks Switzerland and the Feldschloesschen Brewery, as evidenced by the delivery of 31 Renault Trucks to the Feldschloesschen Brewery in Rheinfelden, Switzerland, in connection with the visit. The parties involved reaffirmed their continued collaboration during the handover of the vehicles.
While specific technical details such as battery capacity, range, payload, or specific features of the SideLiner body were not available in the current search results, further information might be accessible through Renault Trucks press releases or Nufam 2025 official exhibitor documentation.
The collaboration between Renault Trucks and Orten Fahrzeugbau in the electric heavy-duty truck sector is also apparent in their shared interest in technology-driven innovations for sports logistics, as seen with the SafeServer body's electric operation. Maximilian von Loebbecke, the MD of Renault Trucks Germany, also emphasized the potential of this technology in sports-related transport needs.
