Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) has extended its 10-year toll services contract with Kapsch TrafficCom. The extension, awarded in 2023, will see the collaboration continue until 2041, covering both the I-15 Express Lanes and SR-91 Express Lanes projects.
The original contract, initiated in 2017, saw the opening of I-15 Express Lanes to the public in 2021 and final acceptance in 2022. Kapsch TrafficCom has provided a sophisticated toll system, boasting advanced technology, high reliability, and excellent customer service.
The extended contract includes all toll services provided by Kapsch TrafficCom for RCTC. This includes roadside toll operations and maintenance on SR-91 and I-15 Express Lanes, as well as customer support for the Riverside Express toll program. The project scope now encompasses 25 miles and processes over 45 million trips annually.
Jennifer Crosson, Toll Operations Director at RCTC, commended Kapsch TrafficCom for their deep understanding of RCTC's business, efficient operations, and active engagement at all levels. The collaboration has also led to enhancements in travel and toll services, with the addition of the 15/91 Express Lanes Connector project to the overall scope.
The extension of the 10-year toll service contract between RCTC and Kapsch TrafficCom ensures continued high-quality toll services for users of the I-15 Express Lanes and SR-91 Express Lanes. The collaboration, now set to continue until 2041, is expected to further improve travel experiences and toll services in the region.
