Promoting Shared Solar Energy: Public Awareness Drive on Solar Panels in Apartment Buildings
The District of Lüneburg and the Hanseatic city are offering online consultations on the topic of Photovoltaic (PV) systems on multifamily buildings, in cooperation with the Solar Energy Promotion Association Germany e.V. (SFV). This initiative builds on already successful measures to promote solar energy.
Starting from September 29, 2025, four initial consultations are planned, offering a compact introduction to the topic. Each includes a short lecture and a Q&A session. The two initial consultations in two parts also build on each other. The first lecture, on October 9, 2025, at 6 pm, covers the basics of PV on multifamily buildings. The second lecture, on October 21, 2025, at 1:30 pm, delves deeper into the topic, focusing on PV systems in multifamily buildings. Another Open Initial Consultation - Part 1 is about the basics of PV systems, scheduled for October 20, 2025, at 1:30 pm.
In addition to these initial consultations, three online specialist lectures are planned, providing in-depth knowledge about PV on multifamily buildings. The second lecture, on October 28, 2025, at 6 pm, focuses on operating concepts for PV on multifamily buildings. The third lecture, on November 6, 2025, at 6 pm, discusses community building supply with PV on multifamily buildings. The fourth lecture, as of now, does not have a confirmed date.
Property owners, property management companies, housing cooperatives, or members of a property owners' association have opportunities to realise a PV system on multifamily buildings. Interested parties can apply for Individual Kickoff Consultations by email at klimaschutz@our website or by phone at 04131 26 1119. However, please note that the Individual Kickoff Consultations offer is limited to five residential objects.
Participation in the three specialist lectures is recommended before Individual Kickoff Consultations. Registration is required for lectures and initial consultations at https://www.sfv.de/actual/termine/pv-auf-mehrfamilienhaeusern-teil-1-bis-3. Further information is available on the website of the district of Lüneburg at www.our website/pv-mehrfamilienhauser.
The expansion of photovoltaics on multifamily buildings is an important contribution to climate protection and an opportunity to involve tenants in the energy transition. By participating in these online consultations, property owners and managers can gain valuable insights into the benefits and practicalities of installing PV systems on multifamily buildings.
