Prolight + Sound event rescheduled for 26th to 29th May 2020

In response to the ongoing spread of Covid-19 in Europe, Messe Frankfurt has decided to postpone Prolight + Sound 2020. The trade fair, originally scheduled for 31 March to 3 April, will now take place from 26 to 29 May 2020.
The decision was made in close cooperation with public-health authorities in Frankfurt and was necessitated by the need to prevent event participants from high-risk regions coming to Frankfurt and visiting the fair when ill.
Messe Frankfurt has been proactive in addressing health concerns and restrictions aimed at controlling the spread of the virus. The growing number of travel restrictions has made it difficult for many potential visitors and exhibitors to get to Frankfurt.
Despite the postponement, the 25th anniversary edition of Prolight + Sound is still planned to take place this year. Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt GmbH, expressed regret that the anniversary edition cannot take place as planned but emphasised that numerous companies from the industry have highlighted the importance of holding the show as soon as possible for product presentations and business development activities this year.
The health of exhibitors, visitors, contractors, and employees has top priority for Messe Frankfurt. However, the company is not able to implement health checks to prevent the infection spreading even further.

The Global Entertainment Technology Show will now take place from 26 to 29 May 2020, alongside Prolight + Sound. Detlef Braun expressed his hope that the postponed event will provide an excellent platform for the industry to come together and showcase their innovations, despite the challenging circumstances.
