Potential Debut of Orange's DJI-Equipped E-Bike? Affirmative, if the depiction is reliable... making it the solitary British-manufactured Avinox model.

Unleashing the Orange Phase Evo DJI: A New Dirt Shredder on the Block

Gear Up for a DJI-Powered AdventureOkay, here's another adrenaline-pumping e-bike entering the scene - this time it's Orange's turn to get the high-tech DJI treatment. The new bike is based on the existing Phase Evo but swaps out the Bosch SX motor for a powerful DJI Avinox system, delivering a breathtaking 1,000W of pedal-assisted fun.

Just a few days ago, Commencal launched its Meta Power SX DJI ebike, and we hinted that there would be numerous DJI Avinox-powered bikes coming our way this summer. So, gear up, mountain bikers, as the e-bike scene heats up!

Orange Phase Evo DJI: The Next Big Thing in Alloy-Framed e-MTBsThis new Orange Phase Evo DJI could very well be the third alloy-framed DJI bike to launch and the first one from a UK brand, making it one hot bike to watch. A hat tip goes to YouTuber Andi Sykes, who tipped us off about the new bike and supplied exclusive photos from the Orange factory.

A Closer Look at the Orange Phase Evo DJIAlthough details are scarce, we do have some insights to share. From what we can gather, the bike features the DJI Avinox motor, but there's no concrete information about travel, suspension, weight, or any other specs at this point. The Frame itself is made from 6061-T6 alloy and is cut, shaped, and welded in-house in Halifax, making it a quick and flexible manufacturing process.

Expectation and Suspension CluesBased on the existing Orange Phase Evo, it's safe to assume that the new version will likely share the same 160mm travel for front and rear suspension. Moreover, it seems that the bike boasts a mullet wheelset, providing the necessary space for the rear wheel without compromising travel. Eyeing it up, the fork looks suspiciously like a Fox 36, while the rear shock bears a striking resemblance to the Fox Float X2, both famous for their enduro-oriented performance.

Weighing the Orange Phase Evo DJIThough specific weights have yet to be released, the Pro version of the Orange Phase Evo clocks in at around 20.8kg with the Bosch SX motor and 400Wh battery. Given the DJI Avinox system is slightly heavier, we might be looking at a bike with a weight of around 23kg, depending on battery choice. The difference is significant, considering the 600Wh battery is expected to be phased out, and a leaner 700Wh unit will likely replace it.

Assembling the Orange Phase Evo DJIThe bike is currently in the mock-up stage, so exact components aren't locked in yet. However, we can expect a competitive build with suspension and wheelset (like the Hunt Enduro V3) suitable for enduro riding. There's also rumored talk of an affordable, entry-level version to compete with bikes like the Amflow PL Carbon. We'll have to wait for more details on that one.

When Can You Get Your Hands on the Orange Phase Evo DJI?As the bike is currently in only a mock-up stage, a production timeline isn't clear at this point. However, thanks to in-house manufacturing, a quick turnaround might be on the cards. The main bottleneck is likely sourcing the DJI Avinox motors and batteries, so let's hope Orange can expedite the process and get the bikes to eager riders as soon as possible.

In conclusion, while the details are slim on the Orange Phase Evo DJI, it promises to be a formidable enduro e-bike packing a powerful 1,000W punch courtesy of the DJI Avinox system. As the release date approaches, we'll eagerly await more specifications, suspensions, and weights to fully appreciate what Orange has in store for us. Fingers crossed for an early release!
