Recently, the people of Kazakhstan signaled their support for developing new nuclear energy resources through a referendum, a decision that aligns with the nation's long-term goal to transition from a raw material-dependent economy to one driven by high-tech industries, including nuclear science and technology1[2].

Seeking a Scientific Renaissance

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has underlined the significance of nuclear science and technology development, specifically the importance of fortifying research infrastructure and scientific work in areas like nuclear medicine, hydrogen energy, water desalination, and small modular reactors5.
