Nordhorn & Grafschaft Bentheim Fight Burglaries With 'Secure Living' Initiative
Nordhorn and Grafschaft Bentheim have launched a new initiative to combat burglaries. The local chamber of crafts funded the creation of an informative flyer, 'Secure Living is Plannable', a joint effort by the Crime Prevention Council, police, and the chamber. This flyer is now included with every building permit application in the region.
The police have noticed a decrease in burglary rates in the Grafschaft Bentheim region in 2017. However, they continue to advise residents to secure their homes in advance. To raise awareness, Police Commissioner Uwe van der Heiden proposed including a police information flyer on burglary prevention with every building permit. This initiative, initiated by Andreas Bothe, the head of police in Nordhorn, began in early September. The flyer, titled 'Secure Living is Plannable', is a collaborative effort between the Crime Prevention Council, police, and the local chamber of crafts, which covered the costs for its design and printing.
The police in Nordhorn and Grafschaft Bentheim are committed to reducing burglaries. By including a burglary prevention flyer with every building permit, they aim to educate residents and encourage them to take proactive measures to secure their homes. This collaborative effort between the police, the Crime Prevention Council, and the local chamber of crafts is a step towards creating a safer community.
