The Switch 2 might look similar to its predecessor at first glance, but upon closer inspection - or, you know, holding it - you'll notice it's made of higher-quality materials, giving it a premium, sleek feel. Sporting a bigger 7.9-inch display with slimmer bezels, the games look crisp and colorful, with a 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Yeah, baby, this bad boy runs smoothly.

I'm not a die-hard Nintendo fan, but I have to admit, this thing feels as luxurious as an Asus ROG Ally X or a Steam Deck OLED. And though the console weighs a tad more, it feels sturdy and well-built.

Speaking of controllers, those Joy-Cons have been upgraded, too. They're now bigger and easier to grip, so no more squinting at the tiny, original versions. Plus, there's no more annoying rail system. Joy-Cons magnetically snap on and off with a single press of a button. Watch me wiggle them around like it's nothing - it's a game-changer!

Powerful Performance

Let's be real - the original Switch struggled to run games at a decent frame rate. But with the Switch 2's custom, beastly NVIDIA chip and DLSS upscaling technology, even graphically demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077 run like a dream.

Though Nintendo hasn't shared details on the chip's core count or generation, it's powerful enough to give console warriors a run for their money. Mario Kart World is a banger, no doubt, but aside from that and a few enhanced first-party games, there aren't many Switch 2 exclusives yet. So, if you're looking for something new, you might want to wait until the Switch 2's library grows a bit.

Say Goodbye to Your Coin

With the Switch 2's asking price at $449 for the base system or $499 for the Mario Kart World bundle, it's expensive, especially compared to an entry-level Steam Deck. I mean, come on, Nintendo. Lighten up on our wallets, please.

At the end of the day, the Nintendo Switch 2 is an impressive system that delivers unparalleled performance and innovative features.
