Nigerian Breweries Reports Strong H1 2025 Results, Returns to Profitability

Nigerian Breweries Plc (NB) has reported impressive results for the first half of 2025, demonstrating strong growth and a return to profitability. The company's gross profit reached N310.99 billion, with a gross margin of approximately 42%, marking a significant 94.76% increase year-on-year.

NB's revenue surged to N738.14 billion in H1 2025, a substantial 53.85% increase from the same period in 2024. This growth reflects a resurgent demand for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages amid a recovering economy. The company's operating profit also soared to N151.90 billion, giving an operating margin of 20.6% and a year-on-year gain of 298.27%.

NB's revenue growth was driven by robust revenue growth, stronger gross margins, and a sharp decline in finance costs. The company's diverse portfolio, spanning lager beers, stouts, malt drinks, wines and spirits, and soft drinks and water, contributed to this success. NB's performance was also boosted by price revisions, seasonal and resilient demand, cost discipline, finance relief, and the integration of Distell.

NB's impressive H1 2025 results indicate that the company is well-positioned to surpass its 2024 full-year turnover, given it has already achieved over 68% of it. With a profit after tax of N88.42 billion, compared to a loss of N85.20 billion in H1 2024, NB has returned to profitability. The company's strong performance reflects its ability to adapt to market conditions and capitalize on opportunities.
