Get ready to dive back into the world of Mortal Kombat as the latest collection, Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, is set to release on September 30, 2025, digitally, with physical editions following on December 12, 2025. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Editions and Pricing

The collection offers a variety of editions to suit different tastes and wallets. The base game, the Standard Edition, will be available for around $49.99 for most platforms and $59.99 on Nintendo Switch 2. The Deluxe Edition, priced at $70, includes extras such as a steelbook case, magnet, poster, lenticular card, and arcade flyers. For those looking for a more extensive collectible experience, the Collector’s Edition (Limited Run) will feature a Goro controller holder statue, hardcover art and lore book, and other collectibles.

Switch 2 Versions

The Switch 2 versions of the standard and Deluxe editions of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection have a $10 markup compared to the other versions. This is presumably due to the game being on a proper cartridge rather than a game-key card, a format that has been met with ongoing backlash. Nintendo kollectors might be more than willing to pay the premium for the Switch 2 versions.

Content and Bonus Material

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection spans the history of Mortal Kombat with all arcade and console games supporting online multiplayer with rollback netcode. The fan-favorite Mortal Kombat Trilogy from 1996 is also included in the collection. In addition to the games, the collection features an interactive documentary with behind-the-scenes interviews with original developers, rare concept art, vintage marketing materials, and archival footage.

Pre-Orders

Pre-orders for the standard and deluxe editions are available now at retailers like Amazon and Limited Run Games. The $150 Kollector's Edition includes a Goro controller holder, a commemorative arcade token, a Scorpion and Sub-Zero pin set, a hardcover art and lore book, an individually numbered box, and arcade flyer reprints.
