Mobile operator MegaFon activates LTE network service in Necruglow region

In the heart of Russia's Far East, the small village of Nekrugolovo in Mikhailovsky District is now part of a digital revolution. MegaFon, the major Russian mobile operator, has expanded its network to this remote location, bringing faster mobile internet speeds and reliable connections to the approximately 500 residents.

The expansion includes the extension of 4G LTE network coverage, ensuring villagers can enjoy high-speed mobile internet for both voice and data services. MegaFon's engineers have also been modernising existing cell towers with newer equipment, enhancing signal strength and increasing capacity in less densely populated areas.

These efforts have resulted in a significant improvement in the quality of service. Call drops are reduced, voice call clarity is improved, and internet access is stabilised. Furthermore, MegaFon is conducting trials and planning for the expansion of 5G in Primorye in the near future, although full deployment in rural areas like Nekrugolovo is currently limited.

The new connectivity is provided through an LTE standard base station built by MegaFon's specialists. The coverage extends not only throughout the village but also part of the road between Nekrugolovo and the district center - the village of Mikhailovka.

This development means that villagers can now use data transmission and voice communication using VoLTE technology, allowing them to use digital applications without interrupting phone calls, all while maintaining high sound quality. With the new connectivity, villagers can now watch movies in online cinemas, communicate in messengers, or use mobile internet for work or education.

Residents now have access to telemedicine services, mobile applications, and government agency websites. Online shopping is also available, making daily life more convenient for the villagers. The new base station ensures reliable LTE coverage throughout Nekrugolovo, marking a significant step forward in digitalising rural communities in the region.

This year, MegaFon engineers have built and modernized over 120 telecom facilities in the region, demonstrating their commitment to improving mobile connectivity across Primorye Krai. The general trend is towards better coverage and faster, more stable mobile connectivity for rural communities, making life easier and more connected for those living in remote areas.

Technology plays a crucial role in this digital revolution, as MegaFon's engineers modernize existing cell towers with newer equipment and build new LTE standard base stations. This results in villagers of Nekrugolovo having access to advanced technologies like VoLTE, enabling them to use digital applications without interruptions while maintaining high sound quality.
