Microsoft & Adobe Issue Critical Security Updates

Microsoft and Adobe have both announced security updates for their products. Microsoft's next Patch Tuesday will be the last of the year, while Adobe will release new versions of Adobe Reader and Acrobat to address critical vulnerabilities.

Microsoft's updates include five patches that address Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerabilities. All versions of Windows, Internet Explorer, and Office are affected by at least one bulletin. Patches are available for these products.

Microsoft Word bulletin #3 is rated critical and affects versions 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2011 for Mac OS X. Adobe, on the other hand, will release new versions of Adobe Reader and Acrobat to patch a critical vulnerability affecting versions 10 and 11 on Windows and Mac OS X. These updates are part of Adobe's monthly release cycle.

Microsoft will release a total of seven patches for December's Patch Tuesday.

In summary, Microsoft's final Patch Tuesday of the year addresses several RCE vulnerabilities across its products, while Adobe releases critical updates for Adobe Reader and Acrobat. Users are advised to install these updates as soon as possible to protect against potential security threats.
