Micro-Epsilon Unveils LC54-DIGILOG: Revolutionizing Tool Measurement in Micro-Machining
Micro-Epsilon has developed the LC54-DIGILOG, a new laser measuring system designed for tool measurement and monitoring in micro-machining. This compact, precise system is set to debut at EMO 2025 in Hanover, presented by Blum-Novotest.
The LC54-DIGILOG is an evolution of the LaserControl Nano NT, improving upon its predecessor in almost every aspect. It boasts a repeat accuracy of 0.2 μm (2σ) and uses DIGILOG technology to generate thousands of measured values per second, dynamically adjusting measurement speed to match the tool's nominal speed.
Integrating seamlessly into the LC-VISION software, the LC54-DIGILOG offers an intuitive user interface. It automatically detects and excludes contaminants from the measurement result, ensuring accurate readings. The system's compact size makes it ideal for measuring tools in the 10 μm to 16 mm diameter range.
Two standout features of the LC54-DIGILOG are the GrindingControl function and MicroTool mode. The GrindingControl function, debuting at EMO, allows for precise determination of the actual geometry of grinding tools, optimising machining dimensions. Meanwhile, the MicroTool mode significantly increases measuring accuracy for delicate tools. The system also reduces measurement and testing times by up to 60 percent and improves laser optics for microtools.
The LC54-DIGILOG, developed by Micro-Epsilon, sets new standards in precision and compactness for tool measurement and monitoring in micro-machining. With its advanced features and seamless integration into LC-VISION software, it promises to enhance productivity and accuracy. Blum-Novotest will showcase this innovative system at EMO 2025 in Hanover.
