Mercedes-Benz showcases preview of its all-electric C-Class model at the IAA Mobility event, with final unveiling slated for 2026.

The automotive world is abuzz with excitement as Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser image of its upcoming all-electric C-Class, set to be unveiled in 2026. The image, featuring an iconic grille with four glowing horizontal slats and illuminated three-pointed star Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), offers a tantalising glimpse into the future of electric luxury sedans.

The upcoming C-Class is expected to share powertrains with the GLC EQ, with a single motor setup delivering 374 bhp and a dual-motor (AWD) configuration offering a powerful 489 bhp. The electric sedan is likely to draw power from a 94 kWh battery pack and is rumoured to have an 800V system, which could potentially enable a 303 km (WLTP) top-up within 10 minutes using a 330 kW DC fast charger.

While specific details about the interior and performance of the all-electric C-Class are yet to be revealed, it is known that the lower part of the bumper will feature air vents for improved aerodynamics. The headlamps, too, are expected to follow the same design philosophy, with the three-pointed-star-like Daytime Running Lights (DRLs).

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the new C-Class will be based on the MB.EA platform, which will underpin only electric models. The company is also planning to provide a 330 kW DC fast charger for the all-electric C-Class, with the potential for recharging the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in less than 30 minutes.

As for the development team behind the new all-electric C-Class, while Katrin Lehmann, responsible for global IT for Marketing and Sales at Mercedes-Benz, has been mentioned in relation to digital transformation efforts, no direct team or leader name related to the 2026 all-electric C-Class development has been explicitly stated in the available search results.

The all-electric C-Class will join the ranks of other luxury electric sedans, such as the Volvo S90, Audi A4, Skoda Superb 2025, Audi A6, and BMW 3 Series LWB, in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the unveiling of the all-electric Mercedes-Benz C-Class in 2026.
