MegaFon broadens its reach: now relatives residing in any part of the nation can be integrated into MegaFamily
In a groundbreaking move, MegaFon, one of the largest mobile companies in Russia, has launched the "MegaFamily" service. This innovative offering, unveiled in April 2023, marks the first time such a format has been introduced by a major mobile company in the country.
The MegaFamily service, accessible within the MegaFon application, allows customers to unite up to five relatives and friends, regardless of their location, into a single group. This service upgrade makes MegaFon one of the first major mobile companies in Russia to offer a format that breaks geographical boundaries for customers.
Operator MegaFon's Commercial Director, Dmitry Rudskikh, comments that the "MegaFamily" service is designed to bring families closer, eliminating geographical barriers. The service allows users to share gigabytes, minutes, and SMS packages with participants, fostering a sense of unity and shared resources.
In addition to shared services, participants also gain access to MegaPowers such as unlimited popular app usage, bonus GB, additional minutes, and internet packages. These benefits aim to enhance the overall user experience, making communication and data usage more efficient and cost-effective.
To connect the MegaFamily option, a subscriber needs to go to the "MegaFamily" section in the MegaFon application. Here, they can create the MegaFamily, enter the name, and phone number of a relative. Once connected, the MegaFamily group can utilise common internet, minutes, and SMS packages without additional charges.
According to MegaFon analysts, the most active age group for creating MegaFamily is 35-44 years old. Interestingly, men are most likely to organise MegaFamily groups, with the most caring ones residing in the Taymyr and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs, Chechnya, Dagestan, and the Magadan region.
Since the beginning of the year, the number of users actively sharing their tariff has increased by almost 25%. This data suggests that the MegaFamily service is resonating with customers, providing a convenient and cost-effective solution for families to stay connected.
The total amount of additional gigabytes added to the tariff for each MegaFamily member can reach up to 300 GB, depending on the tariff. This expansion allows MegaFon users to connect with family members nationwide, not just in their own region or neighbouring areas.
The MegaFamily service, which enables family members from different regions to be integrated into a single tariff plan, was first introduced by MegaFon among major mobile companies in Russia. Previously, MegaFon users could only add friends and relatives who were MegaFon subscribers from their own region or neighbouring areas.
In a world where families are increasingly spread across different regions, the MegaFamily service offers a practical and heartwarming solution. By breaking geographical barriers, MegaFon is helping to bridge the gap between loved ones, fostering closer connections and more efficient communication.
