McDermott spearheads Microsoft's purchase of a Solutions company
In a significant move within the tech industry, SilverTree Equity Partners has announced the acquisition of mhance, a renowned Microsoft Solution Partner based in the UK.
Founded by Julian Stone, the man behind the Microsoft Dynamics consultancy Pythagoras, Stone has been appointed as the Executive Chairman of mhance under the transaction terms. This appointment follows his successful track record in the industry.
SilverTree Equity Partners, a London-headquartered private equity firm focusing on software and tech-enabled businesses, has been involved in over 75 transactions since its establishment in 2018. The acquisition places the combined company among the largest dedicated Microsoft Solutions providers within the UK.
The acquisition is expected to bring about significant growth for mhance. The potential growth includes expansion into adjacent verticals, enhancing mhance’s offering in Azure and Dynamics, and continuing to develop mhance’s Data & AI practice, which is believed to be market-leading.
Alan Moody, the CEO of mhance, stated that the investment enhances the company’s value proposition and accelerates its ability to help customers turn AI, data, and business applications into measurable business value.
Julian Stone commented that mhance is uniquely positioned to help customers unlock the full potential of Microsoft’s AI and Azure ecosystem. He expressed his excitement about the opportunity to work with the mhance team and sees potential for organic growth and M&A for the company.
The acquisition will strengthen mhance’s services across Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Power Platform, and data and AI. mhance currently has clients in the commercial, public, and non-profit sectors, including Médecins Sans Frontières, the RSPB, and Sir Robert McAlpine.
McDermott Will & Schulte provided counsel to SilverTree Equity Partners on the deal, with Aymen Mahmoud leading the advisory team, alongside Giulia Venanzoni and Emily Rees.
