Matomo Analytics: How Websites Track Users' Behavior

This google sites uses Matomo, an open-source web analytics service, to analyze and optimize its usage. The service creates a fingerprint based on user activity, with each google sites' operator responsible for data processing, as outlined in their privacy policies. User consent serves as the legal basis for this processing.

Matomo generates a unique fingerprint for each visitor, combining the IP address, visited pages, referrer, sub-pages, duration of stay, and frequency of calls. When using the google sites, the script 'matomo.js' is executed, and a cookie named 'matomoTracking' is set.

The operator of each specific google sites is responsible for the data processing. For instance, Deine Urologie Gruppe oversees data for deineurologie.de, Kottmann GmbH for kottmann-engineering.com, and IT professional Ralf-Peter Kleinert for his site. Matomo is hosted on servers of the service provider 'ITZBund' on behalf of the Federal Statistical Office.

The legal basis for Matomo's processing is user consent, as per Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TTDSG. Each google sites' operator ensures data processing aligns with their privacy policies, and users can withdraw their consent at any time.
