London Kicks Off Beer Poker Tournament

Get ready to mix cards and cold ones as the Beer Poker Tour is back! This second installation of the UK's unique poker event will take place at Genting Stratford in London, where you can savor a wide variety of brews while playing poker. We're not sure if sneaking in a cider here and there is cool, but shhh, we'll let you decide.

Initially held at Aspers back in March, Guillaume Diaz and Merivan Hassan introduced the Beer Poker Tour to the world. Now, it's making its return to London.

Stay tuned as Poker Pro will be covering the entire event with live updates both on and off the felt. Plus, they're even sponsoring the £150 multi-day 4/5/6 Card Pot Limit Omaha, with the first starting flight set for 6pm today, with our very own Jason Glatzer, who could use a nap after working so hard, gearing up for it.

If you can't make it to the event in person, join us here, or follow our social media for insights from Glenn Brown on the action at the Beer Poker Tour.

The Beer Poker Tour is tailored for low-stakes recreational players who love their beers. Here are some features that make it stand out:

  1. Low Buy-Ins: With the biggest buy-in being the £185 Main Event, the Beer Pocket Tour is truly a low-stakes tour, offering multiple opportunities to win big with satellite free-rolls.
  2. Creative Main Event Format: The £185 Main Event is a Double Mystery Bounty Tournament with eight starting flights. In this event, every player who busts on Day 1 gets a chance to spin a prize wheel, as opposed to the traditional rule where mystery bounties can only be won on Day 2.
  3. Uniquely Designed Main Event Trophy: The Main Event Trophy is unlike any other poker award, giving winners a memorable prize to show off.
  4. Innovative Side Events: Two new side events have been added to the schedule, each with a unique twist. The Beerpot is a £100 No Limit Hold'em event with a beer voucher added to the first pot of every level. With blinds going up every 20 minutes, the "pintpool" could grow substantially. The other new event is the Beer KO, a £100 bounty tournament where eliminating a player awards a beer voucher instead of cash.
  5. One Player, One Pint Rule: While rumors of a breathalyzer test for entry might be exaggerated, there is indeed a rule that only one player can have a pint at a time, to maintain hygiene and sensibility.

Today's action kicked off with a freeroll event offering tickets to the £185 Main Event (missed it? No worries, another one's coming up on Thursday). The Poker Pro £150 4/5/6 Card Pot Limit Omaha has its opening flight at 6pm, with 25-minute levels and a 50,000 starting stack. The £100 Beerpot begins at 7pm to wrap up the first day of the festival. See you there, poker and beer lovers!

Join the unique blend of technology, as Beer Poker Tour is streaming live updates and coverage for the poker event, hosted at Genting Stratford in London. While players battle it out, sports enthusiasts can watch from home and get insights from professionals like Glenn Brown on the action.
