Logitech Discontinues POP Button System, Leaving Users Without Smart Home Control

Logitech has announced the discontinuation of its POP button system, set for October 15, 2025. This move will render the system inoperable, leaving users without control of their connected smart home devices.

The Logitech POP system, launched in 2018, offered a physical alternative to smartphone apps for managing smart home devices. It supported 14 different systems and integrated with popular platforms like IFTTT and Apple's HomeKit. However, Logitech has decided to discontinue the service, following a pattern of ending support for products such as the Harmony Link in 2017 and certain functions from Ultimate Ears speakers in 2018.

In response to the upcoming loss of functionality, Logitech is offering a 15 percent discount in their stores to affected users. This compensation is valid until March 31, 2026. However, current information suggests that German Logitech stores are not participating in this discount campaign. Additionally, users in the UK have reported that the offered discount coupon is not accepted in their local stores.

The discontinuation of the Logitech POP button system will impact users' ability to control their smart home devices. While Logitech has offered a discount as compensation, the lack of clarity on participating stores and regional acceptance of the discount may leave some users without recourse.
