Liberty Mutual Appoints Manuela Baroncini as Global Technical Lines Leader for Energy and Construction

Liberty Mutual Insurance has appointed Manuela Baroncini as the new Global Technical Lines leader, overseeing energy and construction underwriting worldwide. The company has also launched a new Infrastructure Solutions unit to tackle complex infrastructure projects.

Baroncini brings extensive experience to her new role, having previously served as the engineering and construction global head at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. She will now lead Liberty Mutual's energy and construction underwriting globally.

The newly established Infrastructure Solutions unit will focus on large-scale projects, ranging from construction to civil and technical undertakings. It will operate under Global Risk Solutions (GRS), Liberty Mutual's global commercial, specialty, and reinsurance business. Two senior roles have been created to lead this unit.

Douglas Schrift, with over 25 years of experience in brokerage, contractor, and carrier positions, has been named global head of infrastructure. He will represent the unit to brokers and clients. GRS president Neeti Bhalla Johnson expressed confidence in Liberty Mutual's unique position to lead in infrastructure risk management, given its current service to 80 of the top 100 Engineering News-Record contractors.

Manuela Baroncini's appointment and the launch of the Infrastructure Solutions unit signal Liberty Mutual's commitment to expanding its expertise in energy and construction underwriting and complex infrastructure projects. With experienced leadership and a strong client base, the company is well-positioned to excel in this arena.
