Equipped with LG's second-generation MLA (Micro Lens Array) panel technology, the G4 delivers significantly higher brightness levels than most standard OLED displays. Paired with LG's Alpha 11 processor, it produces a brilliantly bright picture full of punchy contrast when tested. The 55-inch version offers the same top-notch performance in a more compact size.
In our testing, the G4 Displayed striking HDR performance, with colors truly popping. During particularly bright scenes in Pan (mastered at an impressive 4000 nits), our reviewers reported that the sun's peak was significantly brighter than past models, standing out in a way few non-MLA sets can match. The only TVs we've tested that can surpass this are the latest models like the G5 - but they come at a much higher price.
The G4 excelled with darker content as well, handling low-light conditions impressively. Viewing the challenging dark scenes in Blade Runner 2049, we observed that skin tones had a realistic warmth, and the TV delivered a vibrant hue of colors.
