Latest Move: JSA Expands Presence in Competitive Bengaluru Market Through New Partnership
Rakesh Warrier Returns to J. Sagar Associates in Bengaluru's Red-Hot Legal Market
Rakesh Warrier has re-joined J. Sagar Associates (JSA) as a partner, strengthening the firm's presence in Bengaluru's rapidly expanding legal market. Warrier, who spent nine years at JSA, including two as a partner, will be working under partner Tony Verghese in the Bengaluru-based corporate vertical.
Warrier's expertise lies in regulatory advisory for sectors such as telecom, IT/ITES, life sciences, and e-commerce. He also has experience in private equity and venture capital deals, making him a valuable addition to JSA's team.
The legal market in Bengaluru has been experiencing a surge in recent months, driven by the city's booming tech and startup ecosystem. The demand for specialized, agile, and technology-driven legal services has increased, attracting startups, investors, and prominent senior partners from large traditional law firms who are setting up boutique firms that leverage AI and cater directly to the needs of startups, venture capital, and emerging companies.
JSA's decision to appoint Warrier as its 19th partner in Bengaluru, including joint managing partner Vivek Chandy, is a part of the firm's investment in the city. The firm aims to continuously enhance its capabilities to meet the evolving needs of its clients in Bengaluru.
Warrier's return to JSA reaffirms the firm's commitment to providing exceptional legal services in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, other firms such as Inttl Advocare, PLA Advocates, Emerald Law, Stratage Law Partners, and Wadia Ghandy & Co have also launched Bengaluru outposts recently. AZB & Partners, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, and Khaitan & Co have expanded their presence in Bengaluru as well.
In another notable move, Economic Laws Practice brought in Ola Electric general counsel Sanjit Nagarkatti as a partner in India's tech capital. The legal market in Bengaluru is becoming increasingly competitive and attractive for legal services, with the confluence of technological adoption, a vibrant startup culture, and entrepreneurial legal leadership.
