Latest highlights from the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show: Innovations and Standout Features
At the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show, Hyundai took centre stage with a focus on autonomous hydrogen and electric mobility solutions. The South Korean automaker unveiled several innovative products, including the all-new NEXO fuel cell vehicle, City Pod and Urban Pod autonomous pods, and robotic EV charging technology.
The NEXO, a significant design for Hyundai, represents a new exterior design direction called 'Art of Steel'. It boasts a predicted range of 435 miles from a five-minute refuel, making it a notable contender in the hydrogen vehicle market, albeit one that may be considered niche due to the current lack of global hydrogen refueling infrastructure. Hyundai aims for 11,000 annual sales worldwide for the Nexo.
The City Pod and Urban Pod, Hyundai's autonomous pods, won the ‘Best of the Best’ awards at the Red Dot Design Concept 2025 for their advanced autonomous functions, hydrogen fuel usage, and versatile applications in logistics and last-mile mobility. The pods are designed to be compact, efficient, and eco-friendly, making them ideal for urban environments.
Hyundai also showcased the AI-powered Automatic Charging Robot (ACR) for seamless EV charging. This robotic technology aims to simplify the charging process, making electric vehicles more accessible and convenient for everyday use.
Other highlights at the show included versions of the Kia PV5 optimized for wheelchair users. The all-electric Kia PV5, which comes with camper van-style passenger variants, was a significant addition to Kia's lineup.
The luxury brand Genesis, under the Hyundai Motor Group, showcased the Genesis X Gran Coupe and Convertible at the show. Based on the G90 production model, these vehicles reflect the experience and attention to detail of ex-Bentley designers Luc Donckerwolke and SangYup Lee.
The 2025 Seoul Mobility Show also featured the Top Secret e-bike, a Korean-made electric bike with a titanium and aluminum main frame and hubless wheels with airless tires.
LG Display showcased cutting-edge automotive display technologies for autonomous vehicles, such as a 57-inch pillar-to-pillar curved LCD, a 32.6-inch slidable OLED, privacy screens, and the world’s first stretchable jog dial display for vehicles, emphasizing new interfaces for the fully autonomous mobility era.
These unveilings highlight a strong industry focus on autonomous mobility, sustainable hydrogen and electric technologies, and smart vehicle interiors at Seoul Mobility Show 2025. The show, which took place at Kintex, the Korea International Exhibition Center, from 4th April to 13th April, demonstrated the exciting future of the automotive industry in South Korea and beyond.
