Land Rover Unveils New Discovery: Lighter, More Spacious, and Off-Road Ready
Land Rover has unveiled the new Discovery, set to hit showrooms in spring 2017. Prices start from £43,495, with the First Edition model topping out at £68,295. The new Discovery boasts impressive off-road capabilities and a lighter, more spacious design.
The new Discovery is built with an 85% aluminum body, shedding nearly half a tonne compared to its predecessor. This weight reduction enhances performance and fuel efficiency. Inside, the third row of seats can comfortably accommodate adults and folds down for extra cargo space when needed.
Powering the new Discovery is a choice of engines, including a 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel producing 239bhp and 369lb/ft of torque. Buyers can also opt for a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder diesel or a 338bhp supercharged petrol engine. These options provide ample power for both on and off-road driving.
Land Rover's latest InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, with a 10-inch touchscreen, keeps drivers connected and informed. The new Discovery also impresses off-road, with a 283mm ground clearance, 900mm wading depth, and various approach, break-over, and departure angles.
The new 2017 Land Rover Discovery offers a compelling blend of luxury, performance, and off-road capability. With prices starting from £43,495, it provides excellent value for money. Used prices now vary widely around $16,000 to $30,000 USD, depending on condition and location.
