KTM Unveils 850cc Sustainable Engine for MotoGP 2027

KTM is poised to test its entire motorcycle in September 2025, with development on track for the upcoming season. In the team world championship, KTM's factory team sits in fourth place, while Tech3 is in seventh. Meanwhile, KTM has unveiled a breaking news 850cc engine for MotoGP 2027, marking a significant milestone in the company's racing history.

The new engine, which reduces capacity and switches to 100 percent sustainable fuels, was successfully tested on the bench at the Motorsportzentrum Munderfing. KTM's entire factory-based motorsport team, led by new CEO Gottfried Neumeister, gathered for the engine's premiere. In the current season, Pedro Acosta is the best-placed KTM rider, ranked sixth overall. KTM currently stands in third place in the manufacturers' championship, behind Ducati and Aprilia, fielding four motorcycles with two teams (factory and Tech3). Since its debut in 2016, KTM has achieved seven race wins and six different podium finishes in MotoGP.

KTM's new engine for MotoGP 2027 signals the company's commitment to sustainability and innovation. With a strong performance in the manufacturers' championship and a successful engine test, KTM looks set to continue its competitive streak in the upcoming seasons.
