Koltiva Backed by AC Ventures Drives Sustainable Agriculture in Indonesia

Koltiva, an Indonesian agritech platform, has been supporting sustainable landscape management in Indonesia since 2022. The company, which serves over 1 million producers globally, has seen its services integrated by members of the FONAP project in cooperation with local organizations. Meanwhile, the global food traceability market is projected to reach USD 45.29 billion by 2031.

Koltiva's work in Indonesia focuses on the Bukit-Tiga-Puluh National Park area on Sumatra, supporting smallholders in certification efforts. The Indonesian agriculture sector, despite its significant contribution to GDP (almost 14%), is one of the least digitized in the country, presenting opportunities for startups like Koltiva.

Major corporations are taking note. Coca-Cola and Nestle have committed to systemic change in the agricultural supply chain, prioritizing sustainable sourcing and traceability. Unilever has also revised its sustainable sourcing program. The European Union's new regulation aims to curb deforestation and forest degradation, mandating supply chain examination for certain products.

Indonesia's export value on agriculture has drastically increased, from IDR 300 trillion to IDR 665 trillion in 2021. AC Ventures, a leading venture capital firm in ASEAN, has over USD 500 million in assets under management and supports such initiatives.

Koltiva's work in Indonesia, backed by AC Ventures, aligns with global trends towards sustainable sourcing and traceability. As the Indonesian agriculture sector continues to grow and digitize, such initiatives are expected to play a crucial role in ensuring sustainability and traceability in the supply chain.
