Kia K4 Launches in UK: Rival to Golf, Electric Option Coming Soon
Kia has launched the K4, successor to the Ceed, in UK showrooms. Prices start at £25,995. The K4 arrives as a rival to the Volkswagen Golf and offers a range of engines, including an electric option due later this year.
The K4 comes with two petrol engine options initially. A 1.0-litre engine produces 113bhp, paired with either a manual or automatic gearbox. For more power, there's a 1.6-litre engine with 148bhp or 178bhp, exclusively mated to a seven-speed automatic.
Practicality is key for the K4. It boasts maximised rear legroom, generous headroom, and a spacious 438-litre boot. An estate version is planned, set to rival the Toyota Corolla, Vauxhall Astra, and Peugeot 308 estates. However, a saloon version is unlikely for the UK or Europe.
Inside, the K4 features a large, integrated 12.3in display for instrumentation and infotainment, with wireless smartphone connectivity as standard. Later this year, Kia will introduce the electric Kia EV4, offering an electric mobility option to compete with the K4.
The Kia K4 is now available in UK showrooms, positioned as a rival to the Volkswagen Golf. It offers a range of petrol engines and prioritises practicality. An electric option is on the way, with the Kia EV4 due later this year. The K4 is manufactured in Mexico, unlike its predecessor, the Ceed.
